Booking & Payment Terms
Last updated: 24 July 2026
Every Elevated India journey is designed individually, so the precise commercial terms — the deposit, the payment schedule, and any cancellation charges — are set out in the written proposal and booking confirmation we prepare for your specific journey. The framework below explains how those terms generally work. Where the terms of a particular proposal differ, that proposal governs. Journeys are arranged by Elevated World Private Limited (“Elevated India”), with ground services delivered by IPT Travel Private Limited.
1. Enquiry, proposal and confirmation
An enquiry starts a conversation; it is not a booking. We prepare a tailored proposal with an itinerary and pricing. A booking is confirmed only once you accept a proposal in writing and pay the deposit, and we issue a booking confirmation. Until then, prices, availability and inclusions are indicative and may change.
2. Deposit and payment schedule
A deposit of 10% of the journey cost confirms your booking, together with the full cost of any flights or rail tickets that must be issued immediately. A further payment bringing the total paid to 50% falls due 90 days before departure, and the balance 60 days before departure. A booking made within 60 days of travel is payable in full on confirmation. Because heritage palaces, luxury trains such as the Palace on Wheels and the Maharajas’ Express, and peak-season availability are held on strict supplier terms, some journeys require earlier or larger payments — your proposal will make this clear before you commit.
3. Prices and what they include
Your proposal specifies exactly what is included and excluded. Prices are based on the services, party size, dates and exchange rates current at the time of quotation and may be adjusted for changes you request, or for significant movements in third-party costs, taxes or currency before confirmation.
4. Changes you request
We will always try to accommodate changes after confirmation. Amendments are subject to availability and to the terms of the suppliers involved, and may carry additional costs, which we will confirm with you before proceeding.
5. Cancellation
If you need to cancel, please write to us; charges are calculated from the day we receive that written notice. More than 90 days before departure, the deposit is forfeited along with any administration fees. Between 90 and 31 days, 50% of the journey cost. At 30 days or less, including a no-show, 100%. Air and rail tickets carry the carrier’s own cancellation charges in addition. Where a supplier holds part of your journey on stricter terms than these, your proposal will say so before you commit.
6. Changes or cancellation by us
We do not expect to change confirmed arrangements, but occasionally a supplier requires it. Where that happens we will offer the nearest equivalent alternative of comparable standard, or, if that is not acceptable, discuss the options with you fairly.
7. Travel insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended for every guest, and is a condition of some journeys. Your policy should cover, at minimum, medical expenses and repatriation, and ideally trip cancellation and curtailment. We are happy to advise on suitable levels of cover.
8. Passports, visas and health
You are responsible for holding a valid passport, the correct visas, and any vaccinations or health requirements for your journey. We will guide you, but requirements are set by governments and can change; please verify them for your nationality ahead of travel.
9. Force majeure
We are not liable for failure to perform arrangements affected by events beyond our reasonable control — including extreme weather, natural events, civil disruption, strikes, epidemic or pandemic, and government action. In such cases we will work with our suppliers to recover what value we can on your behalf.
10. Governing terms
These Booking & Payment Terms sit alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and are governed by the laws of India. Questions can be sent to hello@elevatedindia.com.
