Temple Bay occupies an oceanfront site on Kovalam Road at the northern edge of Mamallapuram, a short walk from the eighth-century Shore Temple. A hundred and fifty-seven keys are laid out as low chalets and villas through gardens that run down to the sand.
The categories go from garden chalets up to three-bedroom villas with their own pools, and the seaside chalets and villas sit directly on the beachfront. The view east is the Bay of Bengal.
Why We Place Guests Here
- Walking distance to the Shore Temple means the monuments can be taken at dawn and again at dusk, which is when they are worth seeing.
- The villa tiers with private pools give families and longer-staying guests room that the Mamallapuram market otherwise lacks.
- It is the natural overnight between Chennai and Pondicherry on the temple run.
